So I recently sent serrende a couple of sketches featuring Luffy and Usopp and Zoro, which she informed me I should share a little more widely. These are now HER pictures, really, but nonetheless, here they are for public viewing :P

They're not terribly polished... I always leave my pencil lines in because when I erase them I find the pictures look kind of naked (serrende's scan plus cleanup has made them look tidier, though). Anyway, without further ado:

Rewatching Babylon 5 from the beginning is like rereading a great old book that you've left just long enough to not remember all the plot details. This show looks dated because of the older effects and tech, but man, it's still as good now as it was then.

Fun stuff from the DVD commentaries:

-Centauri hair crests were an accident. Peter Jurasik came out of makeup with that huge hair, intending it to be a joke. He walked up to JMS and said "what do you think?! This works, doesn't it?" JMS thought it was pretty ridiculous, but generally was willing to go with what actors preferred, so he pretty much said "oh, absolutely." Thus, Peter Jurasik thought he really did like it, and went back to makeup saying JMS wanted the hair, and so the hair stayed, even though neither of them actually wanted it that way.

-In Severed Dreams, when Delenn shows up with the fleet and delivers that line, JMS says, "coming up is a bit that most fans call their favourite moment... I really love it too. I'll just sit here and watch it with you." I had mixed feeling about a commentary over that line, but there was no need to worry!

High School Musical + Pokemon = yay?

I dunno, Ryan could have, like, a Clefairy and Chad could have a Teddiursa or a Nidorino or something, and they could bond over Sharpay's bitchy Jigglypuff stealing Troy and all the showtime, and Ryan could show off his "game" at being a trainer, and then it could be awesome.

WTF.

I thought I was lame enough when I went the entire Naruto + Dragonriders of Pern route. But the depths of my dorkitude know no bounds.

On the (only slightly) less dorky side, NaNo's coming along pretty well so far :) I think I did right by not overthinking it. It means that when I leave off, what I think about while I'm away from the computer is about the immediately following bits, instead of three billion random chunks of unrelated character moments.

Now I have to go google up some information on vegetarian lizards and birds.

The amount of high-quality fic for this pairing is mind-boggling. idontdance is just packed with it. I was memorying stuff left right and center.

So I saw High School Musical 3 last night, was hauled there by a friend (my exact response to the invitation was "well, I don't care if I see it, but I guess it could be fun." Little did I know.) So I watched the first two over the weekend to see just what I was letting myself in for, and discovered the fabulous hilariousness of Ryan Evans, and the insanely awesome slashiness of this here song. Wherein they are singing to each other and it is glorious.

Of course, it's a Disney movie, so Ryan is not explicitly gay. He's only REALLY REALLY REALLY, um, fabulous. Plus he seems to be mildly paired with Kelsi (who is adorable), and you know what, it's just as awesome if a guy CAN be that swishy and into musical theater and be straight. But I will persist in my little fan world of Ryan/Chad, because it's entertaining and hot. Plus, singing baseball dance numbers.

Where the Wild Things Are is one of my favourite children's books. I just discovered there's a movie in post-production hell based on it! Apparently the original Wild Things were Jim Henson costumes, but it's being reshot to use CGI, which I both understand and feel sad about. The image I cropped to use as my icon is one of the only two that seem to be out there. Enough to make me really happy, though.

I hope the movie sorts itself out soon, and is worth the wait.

2. I busted out my GBA SD, and my copy of Pokemon Crystal. Talk about a nostalgic trip. I got a "PSNCUREBERRY" off a tree and nearly died of LOLs. I forgot what it was like before the Ruby/Sapphire generation... even the originals, I play in Leafgreen/Firered editions. Oh god, I really want a remake of G/S/C, I love it so much. I need to make an all-G/S/C team in one of my D/P carts...

So I can do stick figures, but there are other people who are significantly better at handling drawing implements than me.

serrende drew some cracky crossover art kinda-sorta from my vampire!Sanji AU--you see, she has enjoyed the works of Rumiko Takahashi in the past (good old classics like Ranma 1/2, Urusei Yatsura, stuff like that), and one character in particular struck her as possibly having familiar relations with demon!Zoro. What with the horns, and all.

Now, those aren't canon to my ficverse, precisely, but I am perfectly giddy to imagine, in the grand multiverse of AU-fanfic worlds, that this is, in fact, true somewhere, because it's hilarious.

Yes, stick people! I did this for oh_shit_santa's Stick-Figure "challenge", hehe. I decided to make "art" of my One Piece vampire!Sanji AU, though this can easily just be taken as fantasy-themed Mugiwara, or Halloween, in a pinch ^_~

Plus, a couple bonus "arts" of Smoker/Ace and my Naruto-Pern AU.
